Entry Requirements

You must be aged 16 years or over to attend our classroom courses. This course is suitable for complete beginners to brow treatments  / beauty. No previous training or qualifications required.

Course Duration / Timings

This course is completed within 1 day. The course duration is 6 hours, you will attend from 10am – 4pm with a short break for lunch. Please arrive at 9.45am for a prompt course start.

Dress Code

If you have beauty uniform (tunic, fitted trousers etc.) this would be ideal. Otherwise smart, comfortable clothing suitable for the practical nature of the courses, such as short sleeved t-shirt with trousers or leggings would be suitable. Shoes must have a closed toe and flat sole. No flip flops / sandals for safety. Long hair (as applicable) should be tied back. Valuables such as jewellery should be removed and left at home.

*You will be required to be patch-tested 24-48 hours before the course using the tint patch test kit that will be sent to you prior to the course

Structure:

You will attend for 1 day from 10am – 4pm with a short break for lunch. The course is very much hands-on practical throughout the day. Short introduction on the theory followed by tutor demonstration & practical work by students. There are no exams or case studies required, your competence is assessed informally by the tutor throughout the training day.

Models:

No models are required or provided for this course. Students will be required & must be prepared to give and receive treatments as part of this course, so must ensure they complete the patch test provided (tint) no later than 24 hours before attending the course. Please ensure you allow growth of the brow hair before attending the course (where possible). Please note – If you are not able to receive the treatment, you will not be able to attend this course.

Patch Test Kit:

The tinting starter kit is included in the price as you will require this to patch test yourself with the products prior to the course, so you do not need to purchase another one. This will be posted to your address to arrive before your course. You will be required to patch test yourself 24-48 hours before your course. If your patch test yields an allergic result, we have alternative ‘inactive’ products for use at our centres which will allow you to learn the techniques but will not produce a tinting result. You must bring the tinting kit with you for use on the day.

You will need to bring:

Tinting products from your kit (posted to you for patch testing). Cold food (salad or sandwich) for your lunch. Clean hand towel for personal use on the course. Pen/paper if you wish to make any brief notes.

During the course, you will learn a variety of techniques to create the desired brow shape and appearance, including waxing, tinting and threading. All without being tied to any particular brand, allowing you to decide upon the best products for you and your clients once you have more knowledge of the treatment process itself. When you have successfully completed your training course(s), you will receive a diploma certificate issued by The Beauty Academy and accredited by ABT allowing you to begin working with clients providing Highly Defined Brow treatments. This not only demonstrates your commitment to the training, but also allows you to obtain Public Liability insurance so you can start offering treatments to paying clients from home or mobile. Once you have completed your practical training day with us, there is no additional work to be completed. Your diploma certificate will be sent to you within 1-2 working days and you can then begin working from home and/or mobile, once insurance has been obtained.

All of our diploma courses enable you to work from both home and mobile offering the specialised treatment(s) that you have completed. You can start earning by offering treatments to paying clients as soon as you have obtained your insurance. You could easily work solely as a Brow Specialist providing brow treatments on a mobile basis or establish a treatment area at home. Alternatively you may like to look at further courses such as the Eyelash Extension Course or Facial Massage & Skincare course to enable you to provide a range of facial enhancement treatments.
